Description
Oil-Rite manufactures Lubrication Systems specifically to customer requirements. All systems are engineered, designed, manufactured and fully tested at Oil-Rite. This is an example of a custom built Circulating Oil System.
This Circulating Oil System is equipped with a cast iron pump providing 1.6 GPM at 20 PSI. The 1/2 HP, 1725 RPM, TEFC motor is operated by 3 phase power at 230/460V 60Hz, utilizing a C-face adapter. The motor is explosion proof rated Class I, Group D; Class II, Groups F & G.
The 10 gallon capacity reservoir is constructed of welded steel. A top filler cap makes filling the reservoir quick and simple. The filler cap is equipped with an air filter and liquid strainer to help maintain liquid quality. A baffle in the tank separates sediment and reduces turbulence. There is (1) 1 1/2” female NPT return and (2) 1/2” female NPT drains.
The 23 micron, 1000 beta, cellulose filter near the outlet helps maintain liquid quality. The filter has a spin-on element for easy replacement. The unit is plumbed so as to allow the filter to be bypassed when it is being serviced. There is also a 100 mesh stainless steel suction filter within the reservoir. A differential pressure gage and switch is provided to monitor circulation. It can be wired to signal an alarm caused by high levels of filter contamination.
An air cooled heat exchanger maintains a constant oil supply temperature. This system was designed for an application where oil circulates in at about 175° F and out at 170° F. The heat exchanger’s fan is operated with a 1/4 HP, 1725 RPM, TEFC motor operated by 3 phase power at 230/460V 60Hz. The motor is Explosion Proof rated Class I , Division 1, Group D; Class II, Groups F and G. A temperature switch, adjustable from 75° to 200° F, is used to control the heat exchanger fan. The switch is housed in a NEMA 4 enclosure.
Heaters can maintain a certain liquid temperature and assist in cold weather start-ups. This Circulating Oil System features a 1500 watt, screw type immersion heater operated by 3 phase power at 460V 60Hz. The heater is mounted on the side of the reservoir and housed in a NEMA 7/9, Division 2 enclosure. It has an integral thermostat adjustable from 60° to 250° F.
Additional controls include:
- A pressure switch located near the system outlet adjustable from .5 to 80 PSI, in a NEMA 4 enclosure.
- A bronze check valve located at the system outlet ensures fluid flows in only one direction.
- A bypass relief valve used to set system output pressure, adjustable from 7 to 35 PSI.
- A stainless steel pressure gage displaying 0-60 PSI.
- A steel needle valve located at the system outlet, used to adjust output oil flow.
- A brass flow switch set at 1 GPM.
- A 6” centerline liquid level gage on the outside of the reservoir with a dial thermometer displaying temperatures from 0° to 250° F, allowing visual check of liquid level, condition, and temperature at a glance.
- A low level switch in the reservoir that can be wired to shut down machinery or turn on warning devices when the liquid supply fails or recedes to a predetermined level.
All Circulating Oil Systems are quoted specifically to customer requirements. Pricing can be determined only after the Circulating Oil System Request Form (found on this page) is completed. Contact the bearing manufacturer for information on the flow rate and fluid required.
Delivery is dependent upon supplier availability, lead times range from 4 to 10 weeks.
