Oil-Rite specializes in Circulating Systems to customers requirements.  All Systems are engineered, designed, manufactured and fully tested at Oil-Rite.

Circulating Systems provide continuous flow of liquid to bearings, gearboxes, and blowers.  They are used with various liquids such as jet fuel, ethylene glycol, oils, and synthetic lubricants.  By proper direction of liquid flow, Circulating Systems can be used for heavily loaded bearings, operating at high speeds and temperatures.

Oil-Rites Circulating Systems are critical for use in extreme dirty and corrosive environments.

 

 

 

 

Oil-Rite Completes Lubrication Systems

for Engine Test Facility

Oil-Rite engineered a lubrication system to a primary manufacturer and developer of military aircraft engines.  The department of test facilities engineering is responsible for engineering easily maintainable jet and rocket engine test stands.

 

The lubrication system is used in an engine test facility.  Oil from the system provides lubrication for two water break type dynamometers used in two separate test stands.  The water breaks are used to simulate the different loads the engines are exposed to under actual flight conditions.  High speed rotation and power absorption produce considerable heat.  The Oil-Rite lubrication system provides adequate lubrication and cooling of the bearings during test operations.

 

The system utilizes a series of nine oil pumps to supply and scavenge oil from the test stand.  Under normal operation, the pumps are driven electrically.  Redundancy is provided in the event of electrical failure and would automatically change over to operation of compressed air driven motors.

 

The system is piped with high pressure, stainless steel, welded pumping which is fabricated at the Oil-Rite plant.  All piping is subject to special hydrostatic testing to assure leak tight operation at all times.

Oil-Rite Lubrication System for Grinder

Oil System - provides 7 GPH at 50 PSI and has a 15 Gallon Capacity Reservoir with baffle and Thermometer Liquid Level Gage.

 

Dual Pumps - 7 GPH minimum at 50 PSI, Dual Motors - 1/4 HP, 1800 RPM, TE, for operation 230/460 Volts, 60 Hz, Three Phase Power.  Stainless Steel Pressure Gages - 0 to 160 PSI, Dual Suction Filter - 100 Mesh, stainless steel element, Dual Filters - 10 Micron, with replaceable elements.  Filters plumbed to allow servicing of one filter while maintaining system operation on the remaining filter. Check Valves - located after each pump and at system outlet.  Bypass Relief Valve - to set system pressure, adjustable from 30 to 100 PSI.  Bypass Relief Valve - for pump relief, adjustable from 60 to 175 PSI.  Dual Differential Pressure Gages/Switches - 0-30 PSID located across filters.  SPST switch raged 100 VA.

 

Other components include a Thermometer - 0º to 250ºF Stainless Steel, Heat Exchanger - Liquid Cooled, to remove approximately 1,700 BTU/HR, .1 GPM of cooling water required at 90ºF Maximum.  Adjustable Dual Pressure Switches - from .5 to 80 PSI, Temperature Switch, adjustable from-50º to 200ºF, Stainless Steel Level Switch, Cast Aluminum Conduit Box & Relay, Adjustable Flow Switch - from .04 to 1.1 GPM.  All piping to be 304 Stainless Steel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Circulating System for Motor Bearings

Oil System - provides 5 GPM at 15 PSI and has a 15 Gallon Capacity Reservoir.

 

Motor - 1/2 HP, 1800 RPM, TEFC, NEMA B Design, Class F insulation, 40ºC.  Ambient continuous duty, cast aluminum squirrel cage design, lubricated for life non-greasable bearings, for operation 230/460 Volts, 60 Hz, Three Phase Power.  PREMIUM EFFICIENT DESIGN 82.5% NOMINAL EFFICIENCY.

 

Heat Exchanger - to remove approximately 23,100 BTU/HR.  Oil in at 126ºF, Oil out at 104ºF.

 

Pressure Gage - 0 to 60 PSI, Suction Filter - 100 Mesh stainless steel element, Dual Filters - 10 Micron, Beta = 1000, Filter is plumbed with (2) 3-way valves to allow servicing of one filter while maintaining system operation on the remaining filter.  Check Valve, for safety relief, Bypass Relief Valve - adjustable from 30 to 100 PSI, and to set system pressure, an Adjustable Bypass Relief Valve from 7 to 35 PSI.

 

Other components include a Thermometer - 0 to 250ºF, Low Level Switch, Pressure Switch, Flow Switch, and Isolation Ball Valves - for shutoff and isolation of pressure gages and pressure switch.

Oil System - provides 1 GPM at 35 PSI and has a 6 Gallon Capacity Reservoir.

 

Heat Exchanger - Air Cooled, to remove approximately 6,300 BTU/HR.  Oil in at 180ºF, Oil out at 150ºF, Maximum Air Temperature 104ºF. 

Fan motor 1/4 HP, TE, 1725 RPM, 115/230 Volts, 60 Hz., 3 PH.

 

Dual Motors -  1/3 HP, 1800 RPM, TE, for operation on 230/460 Volts, 60 Hz., Three Phase Power, Dual Pumps - 1 GPM Maximum at 35 PSI, Dual Suction Filters - 100 Mesh, stainless steel element.  Filter - 20 Micron, with replaceable element.  Pressure Gage - 0 to 60 PSI, stainless steel construction.  Check Valves - located after each pump and at system outlet.  Bypass Relief Valve - used to set system pressure, adjustable from 7 to 35 PSI.

 

Other components include a Thermometer - 0º to 250ºF, stainless steel construction, Thermowell - stainless steel construction located near heat exchanger outlet.  Pressure Switch = adjustable from .5 to 80 PSI, Dual SPDT switches rated 10 amps at 125/250 VAC, NEMA 4 enclosure.  Low Level Switch - stainless steel construction, located in reservoir.  Conduit Box/Relay - located on top of reservoir, DPDT contacts rated 10 amps at 120 VAC.  Coil Voltage 120 VAC.  Flow Switch - adjustable from .04 to .075 GPM, SPDT switch rated 5 amps at 125/250 VAC.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Circulating System for Steam Turbine

Oil System - provides 3 GPM at 3 PSI minimum and has a 10 gallon capacity reservoir, welded 304 stainless steel construction with baffle, (2) return connections, (2) drains, Thermometer Liquid Level Gage.

 

Pumps - 2 GPM at 3 PSI minimum, cast iron construction.  Suction Filer - 100 mesh stainless steel, located in reservoir.  Motor - 1/2 HP, 1725 RPM, TEFC, for operation on 115/230 Volts, 60 Hz., Single Phase Power.  Filter - 20 micron, aluminum construction with replaceable element.  Pressure Gage - 0 to 60 PSI, stainless steel construction.  Isolation Valve - for pressure gage isolation, stainless steel construction.  Check Valve - located at system outlet, stainless steel construction.  Bypass Relief Valve - located near system outlet, stainless steel construction, used to set system pressure, adjustable 3 to 15 PSI.

 

Heat Exchanger - Water Cooled to remove approximately 10,500 BTU/HR.  Oil in at 135ºF.  Oil out at 110ºF.  2 GPM cooling water required at 80ºF maximum.  Thermometer - 0-250ºF Stainless Steel construction, with stainless steel Thermowell.  Dual Flow Sights - For return line monitoring, Inline type, 303 stainless steel construction.
